Free Audio Books Service from Calibre

We would very much like to thank Natalie Moore from Calibre Audio for sharing her time and knowledge as our speaker at this week’s Devon in Sight Telephone Speaker Event.

Natalie gave us an oversite of how and why Calibre was originally formed in 1974 how it developed into the far reaching service it is now with over 40,000 members enjoying their library of over 12,000 unabridged books.

Calibre is a free service whose listening materials are available to people of all ages who have a print disability so this includes people who are physically unable to read print for a variety of reasons examples would include dyslexia, multiple sclerosis or arthritis as well as sight loss.

Natalie was able to answer questions and queries that had been submitted by callers including those regarding the different ways their materials could be accessed which include memory sticks, streaming, download and In Your Pocket.

Towards the end of the call there was really positive feedback from callers who already use the Calibre Audio Services.
For more information about their services you are able to phone and speak to one of their membership team on 01296 432 339 or visit their website at www.calibreaudio.org.uk
