Navigating the Sight Loss Pathway

Navigating the Devon Adult Eye Health and Sight Loss Pathway can be bewildering.

As a charity we address the issues faced by local people living with sight loss by providing non-clinical community support which complements that of Optometrists in the High Street, Ophthalmologists in the Hospital Eye Units and Rehabilitation Officers in the Local Authority Sensory Teams. We provide emotional support, information, equipment demonstrations and training to enable people to live full and rewarding lives and to be actively engaged in their local community.

Devon in Sight’s holistic needs assessmentthe Sight Loss MOT won the National Visionary Award for Inspirational Service Delivery in November 2017 and has since been adopted by a number of Sight Loss Associations around the United Kingdom.

Our aim is to build stronger links with General Practitioners, High Street Optometry, Hospital Eye Units and Local Authority Sensory Teams.
