Blind Folded Ten Pin Bowls Competition

Blind Folded Ten Pin Bowls Competition

The recent Blind Folded Ten Pin  Bowls Competition held on Tuesday 28th October at Torquay, in aid of fundraising for the very worthy Charity ‘Seeing’.

This Charity raises a considerable amount of money every year for equipment for VI and Holidays for VI families and siblings. They also support particular Grants for actions that will make life easier for Blind and VI people.

On this evening they raised over £1,600 on the night after costs and this will grow when Sponsorship monies are sent in.

Brixham Blind and VI Club are very thankful to David Nairn and his team for the £1,000 Donation they gave as when we first formed back in March 2013, without this we would have had a far greater struggle to set up than we had.

Our team on the night was  Wendy & George Smallman, Chris Sumner, Kate Hyland, Lauren Hyland and Paul Cheeseworth. Paul also won the Highest Individual score award for the night! We raised as a Club £160 for ‘Seeing’ on the night through donations.

Brixham Blind and VI Club came first out of 18 Teams of 6, sighted  persons, but all of the 18 teams had to wear Blackout Glasses so we all were of equal sight ability on the night.
