Guests of Torquay United Football Club

UNITED were delighted to welcome a group from Brixham Blind Club for the recent game with York City at Plainmoor.

It was a real pleasure to have these guests join us at TQ1 for the day, allowing them to take advantage of our dedicated commentary service to support blind and partially sighted supporters.

Our specially-trained commentary team have been covering games for a steady stream of satisfied supporters for a number of seasons and we just want the wider fanbase to be aware of this fantastic facility.

Commentary for blind and partially sighted people enables them to fully enjoy the match-day experience by receiving clear and concise descriptive information on where the play is positioned during a game.

The service begins with a pre-match report before the full-match commentary with specific emphasis on positioning of players and the ball.

Supporters can take advantage of the service from any position in the ground and this is also open to away fans. All you need to do is visit reception and pay a £10 refundable deposit for the small receiver and headphones.

Please note that ambulant disabled or wheelchair users pay normal admission prices for a match at Plainmoor but their carer comes in for free.
