86 year old Joan from Torbay was Devon in Sight’s first Visiting Service client five years ago. She is supported by Sue Hughes who was our first active volunteer. The pair have developed a strong friendship and try to meet up every three weeks for lunch.
Torbay Service Co-ordinator Cherrie Crook said, “Joan referred herself to me at a talk I gave to the old Brixham Blind Group in October 2008. When I met Joan she said she was looking for a lunch date! I’m delighted to have introduced her to Sue and that the relationship has blossomed.”
