Torbay and South Devon Sight Impaired Sports Taster Day

DATE:  Saturday 25th June  10am – 2pm

Venue: Torbay Leisure Centre, Paignton, TQ4 5JR

Cost:  Free of Charge

Active Devon & Brixham Blind and V.I. Club are working together to host an afternoon of drop in activities that anyone with a sight impairment can try. The sessions will be delivered by trained coaches and are open to anyone with any degree of sight loss. Friends and family members are also encouraged to take part.

Purpose

To enable any Sight Impaired person to try out a Sport.

For you all to come and have fun and a laugh.

It will be a  family Day and will contain 6 Sports that you can all try out.

Each Sport will have guidance and Trained volunteers to assist you as you have a go.

SPORTS included:

Shooting 10m Range Indoor with Laser Sights and Acoustic Sights

Archery with Trained Sight Impaired Volunteers

Indoor Bowls with Trained Sighted Volunteers

Cycling by Tandem, but Veladrome open to other family members with own bikes.

Running with Trained Sighted Runners

Swimming with Assistance

Plus any other sports who wish to take part.

At the Event there will be representatives from:

Torbay Sensory Team

Local Club Members from each Sport

Sight Impaired Clubs from  the Torbay Area

Macular Society

British Blind Sports
