Julian has been involved with disability charities, as both a volunteer and trustee for over 25 years. He was also an elected Governor for a Mental Health Trust in Cambridgeshire.
He was previously a Director of a regional disability charity for 11 years with responsibility for fundraising, business development, marketing, user involvement, organisational strategy, public policy and research.
At Devon in Sight he is responsible for business development and grant funding. He has also introduced a CRM customer database, financial accounting software and an EPOS trading system, and has helped develop an outcomes framework for our services. Julian was also involved in setting up the South West Associations Network (SWAN) for local Sight Loss Charities in the South West.
Julian has a particular interest in supporting people with sight loss to be able to use Assistive Technology, and volunteers with the East Anglian Sailing Trust which provides sailing opportunities for people with sight loss.
