  1. The Circus of Ephesus. Those caught visiting from nearby Syracuse will be fed to the lions. Antipholus of Syracuse and his trusty fool Dromio brave the journey, each in search of their missing twin. They disguise themselves as circus artists inadvertently donning the clothes of their missing counterparts and comedy and mayhem ensue.

Marrying a colourful circus-infused physicality with Shakespeare’s linguistic acrobatics and live music, this is a fast paced and joyous new outdoor staging of Shakespeare’s farce of mistaken identity.

This is an outdoor event with no formal seating so please bring chairs, blankets, cushions and picnic mats. No glass permitted on site. The consumption of alcohol is permitted, but only if purchased from the licensed bar on the theatre site.

Supported by Exeter Northcott Theatre alumnus John Nettles and by The Foyle Foundation.

The performance on Saturday 29th July at 2:00pm will be audio described by trained audio describer Guy Newman. Guy worked for several years in London theatres before moving to Devon. Prior to the performance Guy will be running a touch tour at 1:00pm.
