Devon in Sight is committed to championing local and national issues related to sight loss.
Devon in Sight has a number of current campaigns.
Other policy areas
We also support a number of other local and national policy initiatives.
Continued monitoring of Government welfare reforms and their likely impact on visually impaired people. The charity will look carefully at the impact on people in Devon and lobby MPs accordingly.
Cataloguing of issues of concern to visually impaired people across Devon as part of DIS’s User Involvement strategy. Campaigning around issues of safety on our streets eg safe pedestrian access, over hanging branches, cars parked on pavements etc. We are currently campaigning for a crossing on the busy road outside Station House in Topsham, and participating in discussions on the re-developments in Exeter Town centre.
We will aim to raise awareness of the importance of eye health as part of National Eye Health week.
The RNIB also has a number of campaigns.
You can also follow their campaigns in the South West.
