Devon In Sight is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

This website endeavours to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

Whilst Devon In Sight strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.

We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing the Devon In Sight website, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Text resizing

You can resize all text in the site using the three ‘A’ symbols on the top right hand site. The default font size is set to render at an equivalent of 16px and you can easily resize it to an equivalent of 17px or 18px using this functionality.

The modern browsers we support (Firefox 3.6 and later, Internet Explorer 7 and later, Chrome (latest version) and Safari 4.x and later) feature in-built accessibility tools, including zoom and text-resizing.

You can change the text size or adjust the page zoom in your browser by following these instructions:

• PC / Internet Explorer 7 From the menu bar underneath the search field, select Page and point to Text size

• PC / other browsers Increase page zoom: Hold down the CTRL key and press + Decrease page zoom: Hold down the CTRL key and press –

• Mac / all browsers Increase page zoom: Hold down the Command key and press + Decrease page zoom: Hold down the Command key and press –

Breadcrumb navigation

We have included a breadcrumb navigation trail on all pages to enable you to return to previous pages or retrace your path backwards through a series of steps.

If you are using a text reader then you may want to either skip to the navigation text or go straight to the content text.

Where text and images are used as hyperlinks we have tried to create them as a single link rather than as separate links.

We have used a limited palette of colours in the site which have been chosen specifically for their contrast and accessibility. As a result, the text colour has been chosen to show the best contrast depending on the background colour. For yellow and orange, the text is shown in black and all other colours use white text.
